In some circumstances, we may be able to have a short discussion with you, at no charge, to discuss your matter in the first instance and explore whether we are able to assist. Please ask about this when making your enquiry so we can determine whether this is suitable for your case.

If you require more substantive advice, we offer all new clients a no obligation initial fixed fee consultation for £100 plus VAT (£120 total) for up to 1 hour with one of our solicitors (either by telephone, video call or face to face) to discuss your situation and the legal options available to you. We can then provide you with a written estimate of our expected fees should you wish to instruct our Firm.

Divorce and Dissolution of Civil Partnerships

We can assist with divorces, nullity proceedings and dissolution of civil partnerships from start to finish.

Divorce – Frequently asked questions

Financial Matters

We are able to assist with all financial matters, including those with an international element, which need to be addressed through the divorce process and recognise the importance of Pension Sharing within the split of family assets. We will always attempt to reach an agreement with the other party without the need to go to court, however if court proceedings are issued then we are able to advise and assist you through the process.

Financial disputes on divorce – Frequently asked questions

Children Matters

We pride ourselves on being very proactive in resolving all manner of disputes involving children, including day-to-day arrangements as to which parent they live with and when they will spend time with the other parent or whether an equal shared care arrangement is appropriate, as well as wider issues such as parental responsibility and parental-orders in the case of surrogacy, significant decisions, domestic and international relocation and abduction, child protection and guardianship. Sensitive to the emotional issues involved, we take all necessary steps to conclude disputes as quickly and as amicably as possible.

Making arrangements for the children – Frequently asked questions

Domestic Abuse

Domestic abuse is defined as physical, emotional, psychological, sexual or verbal abuse, violent or threatening behaviour, threats to harm, coercive or controlling behaviour and financial control, whether as a result of a single incident or over a period of time, by someone you are personally connected with (e.g. a current or previous relationship or someone you are related to).

We are able to make emergency applications to the court for orders necessary to protect those, including children, at risk of physical or emotional harm. We can also assist you if you have been served with court papers. In some circumstances you may be entitled to legal aid to assist with the fees. You can check whether you may be eligible here.

Domestic abuse – Frequently asked questions

Cohabitee Disputes and Separation Agreements

We provide advice to separating couples who are unmarried (cohabitees) and assist them with dividing their property based on property law and trust law principles.  This is often a complex area of law and the team can provide expert advice tailored to your particular circumstances. Unmarried couples have options which we can discuss with you.

Cohabitee disputes and separation – Frequently asked questions

Pre and Post-nuptial/Cohabitation Agreements

Before getting married or setting up home together, couples often wish to make clear the financial and other arrangements that are to exist between them. We can draw up appropriate agreements to reflect these arrangements.

Change of Name Deeds – Adults and Children

We can assist in preparing a Change of Name Deed to include taking instructions, preparing the Deed and providing you with certified copies.  This can usually be completed within 1 week. If the change of name is for a child, we can also advise and assist in respect of this.

Client Feedback

“That is absolutely brilliant Callie, thank you so much for absolutely everything - I went from feeling so helpless and small in June 22 to this, all thanks to you. I've never had much money but I haven't regretted a thing - as it was for [my children] and I still feel to this day [their father] would have bullied me out of the picture and not listened to what [the children] wanted without a fair hearing and the Courts and your involvement! Thank you so much! For everything. You have been a life saver to me and [my children].” Ms S
“Life at the moment is just so much more stress free and relaxing, I can now start to enjoy life and start again, thank you so much for everything.” Mr R
“stevensdrake were an absolute diamond dealing with my case, I can't thank you enough!”
“I could not have made it through the past 1 ½ years without stevensdrake help. They were always on hand to help and guide me through a life-changing process. It was a pleasure to have them on my side”
"I utilised the services of Kamal Vasdev in relation to the sudden breakdown of my marriage. Kamal helped me successfully navigate the complexities of a situation involving false allegations to Police/Family Court, an application for leave to permanently remove our children abroad and a complex financial settlement. Kamal was effective at helping me separate the emotional aspects of the situation allowing me to ensure our efforts remained child focused. Ultimately we achieved the outcome that was right for the children, even though I initially thought would have been impossible. As a full-time single father who retained a live with order in my favour and a fair financial settlement I could not have asked for a better result.
"I was always kept up to date on proceedings and staff very helpful with communications."
"Great timely advice and professional. I felt that I had all the information I needed to make my decisions."
"Kamal did a very good job of sorting out numerous difficulties with my case. And gave expert advice to resolve things."
“Thank you very much for all your help and support over the past few months, I don't think I could have done it without Alison and Callie's help.  Many thanks again.”
