This year’s “Make a Will Fortnight” in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice will run from Monday 14th May to Friday 25th May

This May we will be taking part in the annual St Catherine’s Hospice ‘Make a Will Fortnight’ to help raise funds for this much-needed charity. Over the two-week period (which runs from 14th to 25th of May) law firms across Sussex give their time free of charge to people who may not have access to a lawyer and who wish to make a Will, in return for a donation to St Catherine's Hospice.

Writing a Will, and ensuring it is legally binding, ensures that your wishes are carried out and allows you to choose who inherits your estate. Having a Will in place also allows you to appoint a guardian to look after your children.

Last year stevensdrake raised £2,700 which contributed to the total of £20,575 raised for St Catherine’s Hospice through the scheme, which is a great achievement in these difficult times.

All the money raised goes towards helping everyone face death informed, supported and pain-free, as well as providing expert care for people in West Sussex and East Surrey either at St Catherine’s itself, or in a person’s own home.

Erica Pearce-Howard, of the Private Client team, said: “Given the involvement that stevensdrake has as a firm with St Catherine’s Hospice already, I very much appreciate the important work that it does providing palliative care for patients and their families living with cancer or other life-limiting illnesses.

“We support St Catherine’s throughout the year through other events and believe that the Make a Will Fortnight scheme is a great way to continue these efforts, raise awareness and raise lots of much-needed money for a very worthwhile cause.”

We are only able to offer a number of appointments for the two weeks during which the scheme operates and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis so make sure you contact the team now to avoid disappointment.

For more information, or to book your appointment, you can contact Erica Pearce-Howard on 01293 596925 or by emailing erica.pearce-howard@stevensdrake.com.
