Crawley solicitors stevensdrake took to their bikes at last weekend’s British Heart Foundation London to Brighton bike ride. In all, 11 members of the team took part in what turned out to be an eventful day – there were thrills, spills and a few surprises. With varying levels of fitness and cycling experience, the only thing that held the team together was the desire to raise money for charity – indeed, “some of them looked like it was their first time”, said Managing Partner, Alex Mitchell who was unable to confirm his cycling ability, only that he didn’t win with the event.
The team raised in excess of £5,000 and a few eyebrows. Trainee Solicitor Chi Onugha performed like Sir Chris Hoy, tearing-up the route, whilst his colleague, Amanda Davies took a spill at the 35 mile point, with more damage to her pride than physical scars. “A huge thank you must go to the team for raising so much money for great causes and to those who cheered us along the way. Next year we hope to be bigger and better…and may even invest in some stabilisers for Amanda” said Alex.
