STORY
On Sunday 13th May, 15 of the stevendrake team will be taking part in the inaugural British Airways Run Gatwick 5k, in aid of our chosen charity, Alzheimer’s Society.
We are a mix of seasoned runners and absolute beginners, but we are all taking on the challenge and hope to achieve our goal of raising £1,000 for this fantastic charity.
TEAM MEMBERS
The team of 15 include; Erica Pearce-Howard, Jenna Kitson, Jo Taylor-Maynard, Gill Hibberd, Lucy van der Borgh, Ian Price, Philip Boorer, Kamal Vasdev, Richard Burraston, Paul Dungate Rodney Peters, Scott Stillwell, James Willis, Neil Harding, and Paul Jennings.
THE CAUSE
The challenge is in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society - the UK’s leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers.
850,000 people live with dementia in the UK... if we don’t take action this number is predicted to rise to over two million by 2051.
225,000 people develop dementia every year, that’s roughly one person every three minutes.
1,340,000,000 hours were spent caring for people with dementia in 2016. That’s more than 150,000 years.
Any support would be greatly appreciated and would provide huge motivation in spurring the team with their training. Get involved by visiting our JustGiving page:
