The sd dragons team from stevensdrake solicitors threw three sheets to the wind last weekend in an exciting dragon boat rowing race, raising funds for a local charity. The race, held at on the lake at Tilgate Park in a Crawley, saw teams take to their dragon boats and race to the finish line, all in the name of charity. Fierce competition came from a number of other local businesses and organisations, all rowing their dragon boats to raise funds for the Sussex-based St Catherine's Hospice. Mark O'Halloran of stevensdrake said of his team: "We had a really fun time and whilst we may not have won, but we certainly didn’t trail in last! We'd like to say thanks for the many generous donations from our clients, associates, family and friends. The sd dragons raised just over £2,500 for St Catherine’s Hospice." Adding: "We have supported St Catherine’s Hospice for many years and this year’s fundraiser was particularly close to our hearts following the recent untimely loss of our former colleague, Sue Morrell, who was cared for by St Catherine’s."
