Dealing with sickness absence in the workplace can occasionally be complicated and time-consuming. So will the updated Acas guidance lend a hand?

What's it all about?

The Acas website provides a variety of advice and guidance on how employers should deal with a wide range of HR and employment law issues. Most recently, it has updated its resources relating to the management of sickness absence. Admittedly, much of the guidance is relatively basic. However, it provides a useful starting point for employers who are grappling with these issues for the first time or who require a reminder of the basic principles.
